Trick or Treat (Charles Martin Smith, 1986)

You know your movie rocks when it’s about the satanic panic of the 1980’s; involves invoking a dead glam-metal star from the dead by playing a record backwards; is chock-full of late-80’s neon blue electricity (above); features appearances by Gene Simmons as a radio DJ and Ozzy Osbourne as a televangelist; has Doug Savant as the jock bully (Desperate Housewives’ best husband Tom Scavo) and happens to the directorial debut of Charles Martin Smith, who is the guy that directed Buffy’s 1st episode(!), as well as goddamn Air Bud (1997) and Dolphin Tale (2011), more recently - the (not so) crop of the crop of shit animal films. See also Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare and Black Roses, released in 1987 and 1988 respectively, and have a rockin’ Halloween weekend.
