    July 2011 in film

Fantasia Film Festival coverage for Fangoria certainly has its perks. This has to be one of my best months in history - perhaps only rivaled by October of last year.

I’m so happy - and to think I’m seeing an additional 15 films or so…And by the way (T) means the film was seen in theaters - in this case, mostly at the fest. I haven’t cracked a DVD open in a million years - that’s what August and September and my Criterion B&N haul will be for!

    June 2011 in film

Holy shit, the month is already over? What? My initial intention for this month was to watch a million things, but I was very busy with other things so that kind of fell through. To give you an idea of how little I was home - and for those of you who might not know already - (T) means I saw a film in a theater - most likely the Blue Sunshine. March 2011 in films

Great month! So not only did I get my cinematic game back (sort of), I got to conduct my first important interview for May’s issue of Fangoria, watch some very important films , rewatch motherfucking Birdemic (who would’ve thought) and start the production of another Mr. Beast short film/fake trailer. Initially planned to be submitted for the Hobo with a Shotgun trailer competition, the whole thing was postponed due to illness. Pre-production is pretty much done, so it was a great process either way. I will never work without proper production managing again…Now, if only I had made an effort to watch 3 more films, I would be an accomplished human being…

    January 2011 in films

Great way to start the year. I slacked so much this month, considering all the time I had but I wouldn’t say it was a bad thing. Very excited for the upcoming year, as my personal watchpile is at an all-time high and February brings some decent films, either Academy Awards-related or not. Particularly excited about the anthology sex film Destricted, Dogtooth and L’Illusioniste to come my way. For those of you who expected more *star* ratings, I’m sorry. I’ve given up on the constant struggle between subjectivity and objectivity. Reading the blog would be a good place to start too!

February, bring it on! With my schedule back to normal and a few exciting things going on in my life right now, I shall say it’s a good time to be alive.
