The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (David Fincher, 2011)

Things I need to do:
Admit I’m excited for this film, despite it being a ridiculous remake of a film that came out two years ago and the beginning of a trilogy that will probably keep Fincher busy for the next 5 years or so - instead of working on original material.
Watch Niers Arden Oplev & Daniel Alfredson’s 2009 trilogy.
Watch the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street for Rooney Mara’s role as Nancy(!)
Rewatch Fincher’s The Social Network
Spread the KELLERHOUSE gospel, whose glorious artwork can be seen above.

23 notes The Social Network, artwork by Neil Kellerhouse.
I want this to come out on Criterion, so I can own a piece of Kellerhouse’s artwork -and because Fincher needs a decent release, other than Benjamin Button. It probably won’t happen (?) but we’ll still have the release of The Game to look up to.
Not the best, but the only high resolution poster concept art I could get. See more of his amazing work (on I’m Still Here, the Criterion edition of Antichrist and more) over here.

14 notes In other news, the first poster for the Casey Affleck-directed documentary on the ”lost year of Joaquin Phoenix” has just been released. Apparently deliberately planned from the start, this enormous hoax(?) is rumored to feature, and I quote ”more male nudity than you’d find in some gay porn”, as well as Joaquin Phoenix supposedly ”snorting cocaine, having oral sex and rapping badly”. Mockumentary or documentary, I don’t know how to feel about this, although being the movie fiend that I am, I will most likely see this somewhere down the road.
Note that I’m mostly posting this because of the gorgeous poster by my man Neil Kellerhouse, artist responsible for many many gorgeous Criterion covers. And because Bearded Phoenix is always amusing.

The graphic design work of Neil Kellerhouse

Probably the best graphic designer ever. He did everything I love, from the The House of the Devil posters to a dozen Criterion covers, most of which are my favorites. Have a look at his visually blissful work. He’s also the man behind the only DVD package I’d have sex with, if I could. I’m sure you can guess which one.
